Bringing chiropractic care to you + your furry friends in Wisconsin. Based out of Eau Claire.

Dr. Katherine Zietz

Born in Pendleton, Oregon but raised in Iowa, on a hobby farm with her four younger siblings, she developed a love for animals and a deep-rooted motivation to make a positive impact on others’ lives. Raising horses, dogs, and rabbits led her to be involved in 4-H where she showed her beloved animals, including a neighbor’s dairy cow. She attended Iowa State University to earn her Bachelor of Animal Science degree, so she could pursue her dream of supporting animals. For summer internships, she worked for Iowa State Extension and Outreach at the county and state level. This included facilitating fair entries and organizing the companion animal and livestock shows. Dr. Katherine went on to pursue a chiropractic degree to support her goals and holistic lifestyle which aligned with the chiropractic philosophy for both animals and families.

Dr. Katherine received her first upper cervical adjustment while attending chiropractic school, and it had a huge impact on her life. While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, she was able to work under Dr. Todd Hubbard, a researcher and top specialist in the Blair Technique. After graduating, she moved out west to Montana to practice in a Blair Upper Cervical office before returning to her Midwest roots. Dr. Katherine is passionate about female and pediatric care.

Dr. Katherine attended ACES, an animal chiropractic program in Texas, and took a food animal adjusting course, where she learned how to adjust cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and other market animals. She is also certified through the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). Dr. Katherine’s mission is to be a top specialist in providing quality, nervous system focused care for your furry family members, advancing the animal chiropractic profession, sharing her knowledge, and being a resource to navigate your animal’s health.

When she is not adjusting, you can find her walking her two dogs, Ava + Nala, riding horses, attending local fairs + animal shows, attending country concerts, hiking, kayaking, traveling with her husband (Dr. Zach, who is also a chiropractor), and spending time with her friends and family.

“While other professions are concerned with changing the environment to suit the weakened body, chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to suit the environment.”

— BJ PALMER

Why Atlas?

The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves. Atlas (C1) is the first vertebra of the spine, which makes it the closest to the brain + brainstem. Communication signals go from the brain + brainstem, to the spinal cord through the bones, and to the nerves to control the body (ex. lifting a foot, paw, or hoof). Atlas (C1) is the smallest bone of the spine with the most range of motion. It is important to make sure that there is not a subluxation (misalignment), as it will affect everything under it + can cause problems locally or throughout the body. The nervous system controls everything in the body, so if it does not work, then nothing works. So, one adjustment to the atlas can be powerful and help to improve and restore proper nerve communication to the body.

Our practice looks at the entire spine and overall health; however, we pay great attention to the atlas with how much of an impact that it can have on the rest of the body by providing effective, specific, and safe adjustments to the atlas and the rest of the body with our hands.

The Pup-Assistants

  • Nala

This pup has been adjusted since she became a member of the family! She’s healthy, active, and energetic! Even with her crazy adventures, she maintains a regulated nervous system and functions to her full potential. In combination of chiropractic care + quality food, Nala is living her best life!

  • Ava

Ava is our eight year old fur baby! When she was young, she bunny hopped on her back legs, due to a luxating patella. She also had urinary issues and could only hold her bladder for so long. Since being under chiropractic care, we’ve been able to improve her hip + leg function and help reduce any discomfort. Ava is now able to control + regulate her bladder!
